About me.

“Justin Gonzales is a saxophonist and Music Education student at Pasadena City College. Picking up the violin at the age of eight, it was not until his teenage years that he discovered a passion for classical music through the saxophone. He currently performs with the Band Programs of Pasadena City College, and has served as their Historian & Librarian since 2017. Justin is a recipient of US Marines Youth Foundation's ‘'Semper Fidelis' Award for Musical Excellence’ as a high school bandsman, and the ‘Jimmy McClain Memorial Award’ for outstanding contribution to PCC's bands. He currently studies alto saxophone with Larry Hughes.

Alongside his fledgling work in classical music, Justin performs with the Pasadena Scottish Pipes & Drums as their Drum Major and Grade 5 competition band Bass Drummer, competing alongside the group across the Western Hemisphere. He also enjoys disc-jockeying underground electronic dance music, and regularly publishes a podcast dedicated to the scene titled "Infinite Horizons," which has over 120 episodes and counting.

Justin is seeking to complete his bachelor's degree in music education by 2022. Afterwards, he plans to enlist in the United States Marine Corps as a musician, then begin teaching after completion of his enlistment.”
